Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is open year round to take advantage of the moderate Saint George weather and to provide members and guests an opportunity to play golf every day of the year. Unlike many golf courses in the United States’ Southwest, Entrada does not over-seed and maintains quality cool-season turf throughout the entire year. The fairways and tees are comprised primarily of perennial ryegrass, while the roughs are a mix of perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass. The greens are creeping bentgrass and actively grow most of the year. The greens are aerified two times each year, usually during the first part of May and the first part of September. The tees, fairways, and rough are aerified during the month of May. The maintenance staff incorporates turf grass seed into existing turf all year long with the bulk of this seeding being during the late summer or early fall. This practice allows the introduction of new seedlings and improved cultivars into our current stand. The fairways and roughs at Entrada are maintained at consistent heights that benefit golfers of all handicaps, and the greens consistently roll a 10 to an 11 on the Stimpmeter. [Read More]
